NATIONAL AIRPORTS AND
AIRSPACE SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT
PLAN AND INVESTMENT PROGRAM
FOR COLOMBIA
WMA was involved in performing a complete review of the Colombian
Airports and Airspace Systems and developing a win strategy and proposal for
this project. The effort was successful. Under this contract, a comprehensive
evaluation of the existing airport and airspace systems for the country of
Columbia was performed. A major aspect of the evaluation entailed
projecting expected air traffic demand growth over a 20-year horizon,
performing analyses to determine current system deficiencies, and identifying,
in detail, necessary improvements to support expected growth in aviation
services. The costs associated with system improvement were calculated and
assessed with respect to budgeting requirements and were then prioritized for
implementation over periods of 5, 10, and 20 years. The project was funded
under a grant by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency.
