ANALYSIS AND SUMMARY OF FAA'S SYSTEM ACQUISITION PROCESS AND MANAGEMENT

WMA conducted an analysis of the FAA's Systems Acquisition Process for a major multi-national corporation on two separate occasions. The main purpose of this study was to prepare a concise explanation of a very complex process for the benefit of senior corporate executives. The analysis included an assessment of the management methods used by FAA and Department of Transportation for the procurement of aviation systems and support contracts. A detailed report was prepared which summarized the process and management methods. In conducting this study, WMA relied upon its extensive experience in acquisition management.
